ASK WENDY
Why do I need an interior designer?
When we collaborate to make your dreams a reality, you are not only getting me but you are getting my decades of experience as a professional Interior Designer. Here are just some of the reasons we should work together:
-
Hiring an interior designer can actually SAVE you money! I’ll help you avoid making costly mistakes that will keep money in your pocket now and increase the value of your home later.
-
Hiring an interior designer provides you with a professional assessment of your project. I’ll give you a solid plan of action, and together we will decide your must-haves and your nice-to-haves, allowing you to spend your hard-earned money more efficiently.
-
Hiring an interior designer provides a strong bridge between your architect and contractor. I will work with you and your team from the very beginning so we can all be on the same page and head off any design misses in your overall plan.
-
Hiring an interior designer gives you access to elite offerings. Through my years of connections and contacts, I am able to access people, places, and things unavailable to the general public.
-
Hiring an interior designer enters you into a network of home improvement contacts. My vendor partners are well vetted well-respected industry staples. I can save you time and money with just the introduction to my many contractors, plumbers, and electricians for your project.
-
Hiring an interior designer will give you that “WOW” factor. It’s always helpful to have another set of eyes with anything that you do, but my eyes are trained to think differently. I will help you see the “big picture” and piece all of the puzzle together.
How does the interior design process work?
The interior design process is all about team work. You and I need to have chemistry and work well together, that’s why it’s so important that we meet face-to-face. I love to learn about my clients and have them get to know me. Together, we will come up with our ‘game plan’ and then I will begin selecting all the amazing elements for your home – like tiles, fabrics, paint colors and furniture. Sometimes we will go shopping together, other times I will bring samples to you - but all the time we will be working together to create an amazing end result for your home.
I only have one room I would like to update, is that possible?
Absolutely! No job is too big or too small. Wendy Interiors can do everything from a one- hour paint consultation to a one window treatment to upholstering dining room chair seats to a full home remodel.
Are you a Hunter Douglas dealer?
Yes, I am a Hunter Douglas Showcase dealer, which means I carry exclusive lines that only a Showcase dealer can carry. I am able to match the discounts that retail stores offer. Most importantly, I understand how the color and texture of the window treatment will affect the aesthetics and proportion in your room.
I really don’t have a vision for what I want to do, how will you work with me?
Don’t worry, that is why you hire me. It is my job to guide you along and help you discover what your tastes and preferences are. It is important that I ask my clients questions about how they live, how they use the space, are there children or pets in the home? The feedback I receive from these questions helps me to better understand your needs for the space. After reviewing your past tastes and looking at pictures of current trends you are drawn to, I am able to begin the process of bringing your space to life.
I am looking to begin renovations on my home. Do you work with specific contractors?
Yes. I have a number of skilled and trusted professionals that I have been collaborating with for many years. They are part of the “Wendy Interiors Well-oiled Machine” and are the absolute best at what they do. I trust them completely.
What type of projects do you work on?
Having been in business for more than 20 years, I have done everything from one room makeovers to whole house renovations to window treatments and office renovations. Check out my portfolio {link} to see examples of my work. Make sure to check back often, as new projects are always being completed.
Do you purchase the materials for my project?
Yes. I handle everything for you! I order the items and pass my trade discounts on to my client.
How long does a project take from start to finish?
Every project is unique. There are big differences between a kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom, and a living room. The size of the project is key to determining a timeline.
How much is a consultation?
The fee varies and is based on the size of your project. It is best to call me to arrange a consultation.
What is your fee structure?
Again, this varies based on the size of the project.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes. I think is best for my clients and myself. Everything is clearly written out so there are no surprises.
